Show and Tell

Finally, I am posting about my BEAUTIFUL blanket that I won courtesy of  Michele at Tales of a Batty Nurse. She had a giveaway on her blog and I won. I am very excited that I won because I never win anything. I love this blanket and it will be perfect for the little girl that I am hoping I will have some day. It goes in my hope chest along with the other things I have collected over the years. Maybe I will show that some day. Anyway, she made this blanket and she makes many others. she sells them to help pay for her baby making so if you would like one of your own please head over to her blog and follow the links to order one. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL! (sorry if the picture isn't to clear. My lighting was bad). Thank you so much Michele!!

Show and Tell

Photobucket

This is what I was going to show last week except I was in the hospital. I am feeling a little better now. i am still afraid to eat a lot so I am slowly introducing new foods. Yesterday I tried to eat a burger from So.nic. It is new in Michigan and I always see the commercials and it looks so good. So I babysat my nephews yesterday and then afterward we went. i ate half of the hamburger and then spent the night in the bathroom...not throwing up but other TMI stuff. I don't think it was me though cause hubby had the same problem so needless to say we won't be going there anymore.

Anyway another note before I get to show and tell. My nephews were so darn cute yesterday...I guess what else is new. But we had such a good time. Jo.ey wanted to show us the "scary house" in his neighborhood so we went for a walk. He showed us the way. I was wondering if he knew what he was talking about but he got us there and I was impressed. Now it was the long way but he did get us there. Then we had a leaf fight and buried each other in the leaves. The boys asked me pretty much right away how I was feeling and they both kissed my tummy and said that would make it feel better. Aww...it sure does!

Ok, so for show and tell this week I wanted to tell you about my FREE trip to CVS. I have mentioned here before that I have really got into couponing so this was the best trip I have had so far. Pictured above is what I got. in case you can't see all (taken with cell phone) this is what I got. 4-12 packs of coke, 2 cha.psticks, 2 adv.il PM, 2 bottles of ad.vil, 3 bags of ki.t k.ats, 3 10 packs of mo.unds bars, 1 bag of skittles, 1 bag of sta.rburst, and 2 bags of m.&m's. After coupons and sales I paid 29.41 ( I do not know what the total was before coupons and stuff because in the confusion of last week the receipt got lost). I received 25.00 in extra bucks, which are money I can use on my next trip there, and I will get back 4.80 back in bottle deposits so I actually made .39. Not bad for all the stuff I got...right? I was pretty excited about it.

Show and Tell

I am posting my show and tell early this week because I am just so excited about it! I received it today and I just could not wait.

Well remember last week on my Favorite things Friday I posted here about Cara and her first annual Walk to Remember! I was so excited about and about all Cara does! Please visit her here and show her love and support.

Well being the Oh so thoughtful person she is, she wanted to make sure to include the online community in her walk that could not be there on that day. She had a contest to give away one of the beautiful memory boxes her husband makes to the person wo could guess how many times she would shed a tear. And guess what? I got it! Right on the nose...4 times! Thanks Cara I knew you would come through for me. Really I never thought I would win because I really don't win things.

Anyway she was quick and today I received my memory box and also a surprise that included the T-shirt she had made up for the walk. When the mailman rang my doorbell my heart skipped a beat. I could not wait to open it. When I opened it I was flooded with emotion and started crying my eyes out. I was just so happy to finally have a place to keep all the cards and things I had to remember my four beautiful angels. They use to be tucked away neatly in a memory trunk that I have filled with everything I have collected through my 35 years of life. But these things deserve a proper place. A place of honor and a place that can be displayed in my home so my angels will never be forgotten. Not that I ever would forget but now all who enter my home will remember too!

Thank you so much Cara you have given me something I will CHERISH forever!!!

So without further adieu I bring you pictures of my new treasure...(please excuse the pictures they were done with a camera phone because my DH who has no tech saviness broke my camera)

Show and Tell

This has been my cocoon for the last week or so. I have been camped out here watching endless hours of crap TV and movies.

Photobucket

Today got out of the house to go for an MRI. It was about the quickest appointment at a hospital I have ever had. My appointment was at 12:30 which meant I had to be there by 12:15. Well I got there at about 11:50 and they took me right away and I was in my car on the way home by 12:30. I was very amazed and quite happy.

while I was having it done I was thinking I was very thankful that I was not claustrophobic because it was a very tight fit. It was really uncomfortable to lay on my back for that long. They gave me the flattest pillow I have ever seen to put under my knees which did not help at all. I guess I should have listened to the dr. and taken pain meds before I went but oh well live and learn. So anyway, hopefully Monday I will get the results.

I cam home and we rented a couple movies. We watched Lake.view Ter.race and Shutt.er. Lake.view was ok...not as good as I thought it would be with Sam.uel L. Jac.kson in it. Shu.tter was STUPID! So save your money on that one.

Show and Tell

I am such a dork! Sorry I posted the wrong link under the current Show and Tell. If you are here for Show and Tell for the weekend of January 24th please click here.

Show and Tell

I haven't participated in show and tell for a little bit. I guess I haven't had much to show. Today I am showing my great free gift I received in the mail. I don't know if any other have tried this but I thought it was pretty funny so I wanted to show it to you all. It was the first thing I thought of when I received it in the mail.

So I went to the ma.gic er.aser website and they said "fill this form out and you can get a free magic eraser." Well I absolutely LOVE this thing. I mean it cleans everything with ease. Instead of scrubbing and scrubbing all I have to do is get out my handy dandy eraser and it "erases" all my problems away. Especially for those hard to get off stuck on food on the stove...no problemfor the eraser. Off in a second. So I was excited to get a "free" eraser in the mail. So I eagerly filled out my form and waited for it in the mail. To tell you the truth I actually forgot I did this so when it arrived in the mail I was excited. DH said "Oh look a free eraser". I was like " Oh yea I filled out something for it". I opened my box and this is what I received.

Photobucket

Obviously the small one is the free one. The one on top is the size of a real one. I thought this was hilarious.Oh, the things I am going to clean with this. I am going to start with my pinky toe nail and then move on to um...not sure what. I mean I know it's free but really... was it really wrth the expense of sending that thing. If I did not already know what a ma.gic era.ser was this would not really show me.

Anyway, head on over to Mel's place and see what others are showing this week.

Show and Tell (kids mentioned and pics)

My show and Tell this week is my nephews on Halloween. They were so cute and so excited to go out and get candy. The 3 year old is Jo.ey and he was the spider. The 19 month old is No.ah and he was the pumpkin. Jo.ey assigned the Halloween costumes this year. He was going to be the pumpkin but then decided he dd not want to be that anymore. And as with anything he doesn't want he pushes it off on his little brother. The little one would not let anyone put the candy in his bag it had to be in his hand and then he wanted them open so he could eat it. So by the third house he was covered in chocolate and then a sticky sucker but it was oh so cute. He would go up to the houses and say Tick teeeeeet.

Jo.ey...he said it was a good spider so I did not have to be scared of him.

No.ah...the hat was the cutest, it kept falling over his eyes.Photobucket

Show and Tell

I am feeling better now. Still have a cold but I don't feel like the living dead anymore. Thank you for your well wishes. Now on to my show and tell this week...

My friend made me this bracelet. I love it. She knows I love charm bracelets and vintage stuff . It may not be that clear of a picture, it was taken with my cell phone. That is the only camera I have since my husband broke mine. Anyway, the white button on the left is over 80 years old and there is a beautiful little string of pearls.  She is too good to me.

Show and Tell

Here is my Show and Tell for this week...

These are my babies or at least 2 of them.

My dogs. #1 is Sammy He is 6 and a beagle mix with I think a dalmation butI do not know for sure. We rescued him from the Humane Society. When we went to find a dog we went directly to this cage that had this dog cowered in the back. My husband instantly said I want him. The lady at the Humane Society said "you don't want him". (Nice, aren't you suppose to try to help find a home for the dog?). She said "he is very timid. He was abused when they brought him in and he will not be good with kids" . They did not know his name so they named him Wimpy (again great way to try to help the dog). We took him for a walk and just knew he was the dog for us. I said right away he looked like a Sammy and so we took him home that day. We have had him for 4 years and he is a GREAT dog! He is spoiled rotten. When we first got him he was afraid of everything! If kids came arond he would duck under cars or beds. He never begged and he stayed in the corner and shook. Well, we broke him of all those things, including the begging. Now he barks at us if we don't give him some of our food. He is a great dog with kids because he is so mellow. My friends kids come over and take him for a walk and he never takes off he just stays by their side. The only thing is he hates Thunderstorms...in fact he is crying right now and trying to jump in my lap because we had 1 rumble of thunder like 10 minutes ago. He doesn't like fireworks or if we clap our hands, so needless to say he doesn't like it when we are watching sports. He hides in the bedroom. He is so much better now and he definitely gets a lot of love!

#2 is Katie Jo. She is a full bred Schnauzer. She is like 12 or 13. We got her from a friend of our family who just passed away this last March due to lung cancer. She is old but I think bringing to our house has breathed new life into her. She was very depressed when we got her which is understandable she had been in a sad environment for a year and she just lost her mom. But she is happy now! She runs and plays with Sammy and she does not take any crap from anyone. She is definitely our watch dog. If someone comes to our house that she doesn't know she will go after them. Once you get in the house and she sees we are ok with you, then she is ok. She has OCD for sure! When she eats she has to touch her nose to floor several times before eating (kind of like Robert in Everybody loves Raymond). If you interrupt her she has to go through the whole process again. It is pretty funny.

I love my animals! I don't know what I would do without them. Some how even when I am having a bad day they can bring a smile to my face and they have a calming affect. They love me no matter what and they never have anything mean to say. Just lots of kisses and love. What more could a person want?
