Still can't eat...this sucks!

It is Sunday now and I still can not eat much. I am living on applesauce, crackers, and chicken noodle soup (mainly broth) and occasional piece of bread and butter. I am HUNGRY! but when I eat anything else I throw it up! I do not know why this is happening but this sucks! I feel fine other then that. Thank God no pain (knock on wood).

I remember after my endoscopy the nurse called my nurse and said they found a small hiatal hernia but that it would not account for my pain. No doctors ever mentioned it to me...not that I spoke to any doctors. I looked up info yesterday on it after getting sick yet again and it COULD account for some of my symptoms. If I understand correctly what I read it, said something about if the esophagus or whatever part they were saying, gets stuck then it can cause pain and nausea and vomiting. It can slide in and out and I am thinking that maybe it got stuck for a while and that is what has caused the problem. I don't know...I am using dr google.

Anyway, I guess what I am going to have to do is make an appointment with my regular doc, if I do not get better soon, and then get a referral to a specialist. If this keeps happening it needs to stop. I need to eat some time.

Anyone ever have any experience with a hernia? Did you have these problems? I know it said most people can have a hiatal hernia and not even know it because most of the time it does not cause symptoms unless it gets big or whatever gets stuck. I just want desperately to feel better.

I'm sorry, this has to be so frustrating!! I would be so crabby only eating soup and not knowing why i was feeling so bad. ((HUGS)) i hope your regular doc can DO something to help you feel better.

Sorry I've been such a lousy commenter.

What an ordeal. I have a small hiatal hernia. I really can't imagine it causing the extreme symptoms you've been having. I hope you get some answers and relief soon. Not knowing is awful.

Damn, dude! I'm sorry you're going through all that yuck. I've not had a hernia before but my dad did. I remember it hurting a lot when he sneezed. So my only advice: don't sneeze.

I'm so sorry you're ill and they weren't able to find any substantial at the hospital. WTH?

I would definitely meet with your doc and see what they think.

A girl's gotta eat!

Holy crap - what a nightmare!! I am so sorry you have been so sick. Even more sorry they can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

I don't know much about hiatal hernias, but I've never seen anyone who had one as sick as you. I hope you get in to see someone soon and they get you figured out.

Thinking of you . . .

My dad has a hiatal hernia, and he said before it was diagnosed he thought for sure he was developing a heart attack. Sounds like really different symptoms, but I think it can be really different from person to person.

In any case, I'm really glad you're going to go see a doctor! It's just too awful to keep going through. I hope they can tell you what's happening and get you feeling better!

I don't know what's causing that or anything about hernias, but I'm just sending good thoughts that you get better soon. Not being able to eat sucks.
